Empty state copy on ADPList website’s mobile version for mentor profiles (Mentees section)
You have no mentees yet. Share your profile so mentees can easily book you.
This is crisp and shares the accurate information with the user. However, from where I see, I find two flaws with this copy.
- It lacks empathy – “You have no mentees” is kind of disheartening even as a new user who is awaiting profile approval on the platform.
- It is confusing – If one doesn’t have mentees then people who would find and book you would not be mentees yet. They’re prospects.
The copy could have been written as:
Mentees haven't found you yet
Share your profile so folks can easily book you for mentorship
Share profile >>
When you suggest an alternative action in the copy, it’s a great idea to give the user an option to carry out your suggestion. Intuitive! Common sense!
